DotMac Synchronization
I have been using .Mac for a few weeks now and I am enjoying it tremendously. Today I want to talk about the sync feature of .Mac. I kind of discovered the sync feature by accident, just looking around.
MacBook Battery Calibration
My wife and I have had our MacBook for about 6 months now. We really love it. Actually, it is my wife’s but she allows me to use it, if I am nice. After a few months the battery in the MacBook seemed like it was not lasting as long as it should. So, I went to the Apple Knowledgebase and got the following information:
Why I like Dot Mac
For the first time ever I have purchased a .Mac account. .Mac has been in existence for many years, but in my humble opinion, it has never been a good bargain until now. It had anemic storage potential and the other features were just not compelling.
Trip to the Apple Store
There are at least 3 Apple stores in the Denver area. I visited one yesterday. I wanted to see the new iMac’s in the flesh. Well, while you are there you just have to see everything else too, right?
E-mail Ideas
Previously, I mentioned planning to do a few articles on e-mail. Here are some ideas from my own experiences and other sources on the Internet. Keep in mind, not everything mentioned here will work for everyone. However, if you can adopt a few of these ideas you will be much better off going forward on the e-mail front.
Hazelometry
A while back I did an article on a great shareware application called Hazel from Noodlesoft. This is a very cool little utility that resides in your System Preferences as a Pref Pane. With Hazel you can automate a whole bunch of stuff on your system. I have automated several different folders on my Desktop to do different things with various files as they arrive in them.
Blind Carbon Copy
I love using Apple’s Mail application. I have been using it for years and it has developed into a very sophisticated program. If I could use it at work I would, but we need to use Entourage with the Exchange Server.
