Virus or Not to Virus
Do you use Anti-Virus software on your Mac? I do. I know many, many people that do not. In fact, I would guess that by far and away the majority of Mac users, especially home users, do not use anti-virus software.
The Fast Way
My wife and I just returned from a very wonderful vacation trip about five hours from our home. Naturally, I took several photos during the trip. What I would normally do would be to hook up my digital camera to the iMac with a cable and download the photos into iPhoto. This would take about 10 minutes.
Old Time Computer 2
A few articles ago I mentioned trying to get some files off my old Beige G3. I did finally try to use a small, older thumb drive to get it off, but apparently the USB card in the G3 is dead. So now what to do.
The .5 Install
Well, I didn’t wait as long as I usually do. I have installed Leopard 10.5.5 on my MacPro at work, my aluminum iMac and MacBook at home without any problems.
10.5.5
If you are running Leopard then you are probably aware that Apple just released their latest update to the OS, 10.5.5. This update has been several months in the making.
FileMaker Pro Tables
I am building a FileMaker database at work which happens to be a remake of an older, very out of date one. It is not terribly complicated, but it will require at least two tables with relationships.
Apple Store
Finally! We are getting an Apple Store in Colorado Springs! It is currently being constructed at the Briargate upscale shopping center. You can see the Apple logo on the front of the store under all the construction stuff. Very cool!

Old Time Computer
The other day I found myself needing an old FileMaker Pro file. I mean really old, like version 4 of FileMaker. It wasn’t on my new iMac which means I may had forgotten to bring this file forward on one of my computer migrations.
FileMaker Pro Training
I think I have mentioned this before, but we have access to a great learning web site at work called Lynda.com. They have tons of video lessons just about any kind of application you can think up. We have subscriptions to the site for our print designers so they can learn cool stuff about apps like Photoshop, InDesign CS3 and others.
FMP Cool Features
I hope you don’t mind if I bring up a few cool features of FileMaker Pro from time to time. Since I am still using FileMaker extensively I thought I would mention one that I have become rather fond of.
