Testing Your Websites
I have been doing web sites for many years. Not to make a living, just as a hobby, for friends. One of your main problems if you design on a Mac is how your sites look in the Windows OS environment.
Freeway
I am in the process of building a personal resume style website. Before I began I did research on the Internet viewing several personal websites to get a feel for how they look. I saw everything from abhorrent websites to some very nice ones.
Safari Instability
Apple released an update to their Safari web browser yesterday to improve it’s stability. However, some people are still having problems with Safari crashing. Here is the work around that worked for me.
iPhone Update
I have a good friend who has an iPhone. He advised me that the recent 2.2 update to the iPhone from Apple is very cool. Apparently it has many new features including Google Street View. If you have an iPhone it appears worth the effort to update. Go here to learn more.
Time Machine Reminder
I was reading through some of the Mac Tech web sites that I visit on a regular basis and came across one users experience with Time Machine. This gentleman had good experiences with Time Machine, but he mentioned something that I had forgotten about.
Another Switcher
I have a friend who leased a building to the owner of a Mac Superstore. While he was dealing with the store owner he was exposed to the Macintosh computer. Well, he and his wife finally go one, or so.
Realbasic
Have you ever tried programming software? I have always wanted to learn some kind of basic programming. Not to write professional software, but just to write some simple programs for personal use.
Apple Rep
We met with an Apple Rep at my work today. He flew out from Cupertino to check in with us and determine what our computer needs would be for our next budget year.
Newbies and Macs
So, I am sitting there working on a Mac tower at my work. The user was sitting there watching me install Office ’08. In between the downloads of multiple updates we got to talking. What do you talk about when the Mac tech dude is in your cube? Macs, of course.
The PC Fix
Just recently at my work I went with one of the PC guys to work on one of our executives computers at his home. The PC guy ran an adware program to remove adware from the machine which had been running very slow.
