Mac Users – Yikes!
Over the years as a Mac user (got my first Mac in 1987) and a Mac tech support person I have come across all kinds of users. From the “power user” to the complete novice. It is interesting to work with people and their Macs. Frequently I end up learning things through assisting others. But, there has always been something that has amazed me about certain Mac users.
Snow Leopard Install
This is a great article about installing Snow Leopard. Well worth your time before installing today. Check it out here.

Snow Leopard Compatibility
I run a ton of applications on my iMac. Prior to doing the Snow Leopard upgrade I am doing a lot of research on when these apps will be “compatible” with the new OS. The overall theme seems to be that most apps will be compatible within one to two weeks after Snow Leopard’s release. If you are running a lot of applications I sincerely believe it will be worth the wait to avoid as many problems as possible. So, I will probably purchase the Snow Leopard family pack when it comes out tomorrow, but will not install it for about a week or two down the road. How about you?

iPassword Sync
What do you use to keep your passwords? I have used 1Password from Agile Web Solutions. It is a great program. I am running it on my iMac, the main machine, and on my MacBook. But, there is one thing that drives me crazy!

Snow Cat
Apple has finally announced the release of Snow Leopard on August 28. I will buy it within a few weeks, but I will not install it initially. Still have to work out the Quicken 2007 PowerPC thing. I really want to avoid installing Rosetta. It is just going to slow down my machine.

Follow the Money
I continue to test drive iBank alongside Quicken 2007. So far, so good. As I noted previously, the initial import of about two years of Quicken data went flawlessly. I have been downloading transactions using online banking in both applications with no problems. I have a few different bank accounts and the online banking downloads are the make or break point with me. Everything seems to be working well so far. I know that many people would like to leave Quicken behind. I will keep you posted on my progress with iBank.

Twitter/Facebook Hackers
If you are a Twiiter or Facebook user this article will be of interest to you. I use both mediums and this information does bring concern. Probably won’t stop using either service anytime soon, but I guess it could get bad enough.

Entourage Tips
This article is very helpful if you are an Entourage user, either in a corporate environment or otherwise. I prefer Mail over Entourage, but Entourage is not a bad program if you can kind of keep it maintained.

iPhoto Update
Apple released an update to iPhoto ’09 yesterday. It adds some functionality to the program. Here are the improvements. I have done the the update and with no problems. Be aware, this is an iPhoto update so it weighs in around 160 MB.
