Odds and Ends
Just a few observations after being back at my former employer for a month or so. It is a corporate environment so we use the Exchange Server. The Mac people use Office 2008 which means Entourage for email.
Compared to using Entourage, Apple’s Mail program is elegant. I really miss using Mail at work. But when in Rome, you have to use Entourage.
Working on PC’s is kind of the same thing. The Mac OS and Mac hardware is elegant compared to a Dell PC and Windows XP. The Dell hardware isn’t too difficult, it is kind of modular really. Not too bad to work on.
Speaking of working on machines I brought my own, good quality, screwdrivers to work to take apart a MacBook Pro. They worked wonderfully, no problems whatsoever. You cannot beat good quality tools for repair work. We should be getting the same set of screwdrivers in a week or two. Looking forward to it.
Anyway, I am learning the in’s and out’s of PC’s. They aren’t too enjoyable, but it is a pleasure to help people get their jobs done. I get more PC calls than Mac calls so when I get a Mac call it is a real pleasure, almost fun.
Well, just an update on stuff that is going on. My partner has one of the 21.5″ iMacs. He loves it and uses it for just about everything. It is a sweet machine.
