About

DougDoug has been a Mac user since 1987. He is a true Mac aficionado and is totally immersed in all things Mac. Over the years he has owned at least 8-10 different Macintosh computers and has developed into a real Mac nerd. Currently Doug is working in the area of Mac Tech Support Desktop at a large corporation which means he assists users with the Mac OS and various applications on the Mac platform. Along with other Mac Techs he services approximately 150 Macintosh computers at this time.

Doug currently has a brand new 24″ iMac 2.8 GHz desktop machine and a MacBook 2.0GHz. He loves his new iMac and, of course, uses it for everything under the sun.

As you can see from the photo, Doug is married to his wonderful wife Carol. Their kids are grown and gone, but they have a cat named Gabby to keep them company. Lest there be any marital compatibility issues Carol and Gabby are Mac users as well.

Doug, Carol and Gabby live in the Colorado Springs, CO area. Having moved their from California they are still getting used to 7,000 ft. elevation, 15 megajoule UV, snow and ice. It is quite a change, but they are becoming Coloradans at a fast pace.

Besides Mac stuff, Doug loves to do woodworking. If you enjoy that sort of thing, then, by all means, head on over to his woodworking blog, woodshoptalk.com. Along with the blog Doug does an occasional podcast on the projects he is currently building. Of course, his woodworking blog is done in Apple’s iWeb and the podcast with Garageband!

Doug hopes you enjoy MacEssence. If you have any ideas or suggestions please don’t hesitate to use the commenting feature.
