I have installed iOS 10 and am loving it! What a great iDevice OS. One of the new features in iOS 10 Safari is the ability to have two windows open side by side in split screen view. If you have an iPad Air 2 or newer iPad; this will work for you.
Safari Split Screen
Open Safari web browser in your iPad. Tap on the “Plus” symbol in the upper-right corner of the window to create two tabs in Safari:
Now, all you have to do is tap and hold on the right-hand tab and slide it to the right-side of the screen. It becomes the second side by side Safari window:
You now have two Safari windows. A pretty cool feature for doing research or just comparing things side by side. To remove the two windows tap and hold on the icon in the lower-right corner of your screen:
Just select “Merge All Tabs” and you are back to the normal tabbed browser window. Of course, you can always add a “New Tab” or “Close Tab” as well.
I can see myself using the Split Screen feature in Safari from time to time. It is easy to set up and just plain handy.
