Apple has a new redesigned Support Page. I would definitely describe it as “user friendly”. In years past, some of Apple’s support stuff has been a bit difficult to follow, in my humble opinion. So, lets take a look at the new Support site, I think you will like it, especially if you have multiple Apple devices.
New Support Site
When you get to the new Support site you have to login with you Apple ID as usual. Here is the main window, had to block out some sensitive information:
Most of the things I blocked out were serial numbers. If you click on a device you get a window similar to this:
I really like the way Apple has laid everything out. You can see Recent Activity for this device here and a bunch of other information including how to contact Apple Support. It is good information presented in an easy to understand format.
Here is the support page for my iPhone which has Applecare+ coverage:
It really does give you a complete status on your device. The only Apple device that I have had any activity on is my Late 2012 iMac. This is what you see when you click on Recent Activity:
As you can see, I cancelled this appointment at the Genius Bar. I figured out what the problem was on my own and fixed it.1
I guess this is no big deal, but it is good to know the new Apple Support site is much more user friendly these days. If you were a frustrated user of Apple’s old support site, I encourage you to give the new site a try. I think you will find it ‘new and improved’.
- I have been to the Genius Bar once or twice, but with my Mac tech background I can usually fix things myself. ↩
