In the last few iterations of iOS Apple has added Force Touch and then developed that into 3D Touch. Here is a pretty good definition of 3D Touch:
3D Touch is multitouch made multidimensional. With it you can press deeply to launch actions instead of apps, reply to notifications, preview messages and links, switch keyboards, switch apps, animate Live Photos, vary stroke width, and more. It’s like a wormhole through iOS that lets you move around faster than ever.
Disabling 3D Touch
Here is the deal. The 3D Touch feature is pretty cool. I use it on occasion, but not that much really. I know for a fact that for some people, it just gets in the way. They really don’t use it. If this is you and you wish to turn off 3D Touch altogether, then read on my friend.
To disable 3D Touch go into the General area of Settings on your iOS device:
Next, tap on the Accessibility setting:
Once you are in the Accessibility area, scroll down until you find 3D Touch and tap on it:
Now you are in the 3D Touch settings area:
Just tap on the slider to the right to turn off 3D Touch. If you change your mind at a later time, you can always turn it back on again.
If you are a big 3D Touch user cool. However, if you really don’t use it and want to get it out of the way, just turn it off.
