Well, I broke down and did it. I bought a new 10.5″ iPad Pro. I think the 10.5″ and 12.9″ will be the iPad Pro formats for the future. It was a bit of a splurge, but it has worked out really well.
Here is the deal. My wife was going to get a new iPad Air 9.7“. Instead of doing that, I gave my 9.7″ iPad Pro to my wife and bought the 10.5” iPad Pro. I got the 256 GB version. I will have this iPad for a long time, just wanted to get enough storage space for the long haul. Here are some unboxing photos:
As is usually the case, Apple’s packaging is flawless:
The 10.5” iPad Pro comes with the usual suspects, an AC adapter and USB cord:
The 10.5” iPad Pro has a 12 megapixel camera. It sticks out a bit:
The setup process was simple. I just backed up my old iPad Pro 9.7” to iCloud, started up the new iPad, filled in a few items and then restored from the iCloud backup. It all went very smooth:
I wanted to make a few observations about the 10.5” iPad Pro. It is fast, very fast. You would not think they could improve on the older 9.7” iPad Pro, but they did. The improved graphics processor makes moving around from screen to screen very smooth. Apps boot faster and just work better.
Of course, I would be remiss if I did not mention the screen. It really is stunning. Text is crisper and colors are bolder. Of course, there is increased screen real estate which means I have more room to have more that one app open at once.
Well, just wanted to bring you an update on my new 10.5” iPad Pro. It is getting rave reviews on the Mac web and it certainly gets a rave review from yours truly.
