The other day I was looking to add an accessory to my iPad Pro. I was searching around Amazon for a back cover. I noticed that most entries either listed the iPad models that their item worked with by name or by model number. This made me go back to my iPad to confirm that information before ordering. I think this is a pretty common occurrence. If you ever need confirm your iPad model for whatever reason, here is how that works.
iPad Model
To get the Model Name or Model Number of your iPad you need to start in the General Tab of Settings:

Once you tap on “General” you will see this screen:

When you tap on “About” you will see a screen with the information you need:

You need one or the other of these or maybe even both. Once you have this information you can confirm the item you wish to purchase will work with your iPad version.
Conclusion
With so many versions of the iPad out there today it is not a bad idea to confirm model information. You may think you know what your iPad model is, but it is always best to see what Apple calls it. What Apple calls it is what most sellers will be using in their product descriptions.
