I have used the original Magic Trackpad for several years. Recently, it started to fail on me. So, I ordered a new Magic Trackpad 2. The Magic Trackpad 2 is so much nicer than the original version. There are several reasons for this. Allow me to elaborate.
Magic Trackpad 2
Here is what the Magic Trackpad 2 looks like.
The top surface of the Magic Trackpad 2 is glass. It looks a little weird, but its performance is smooth as silk. The overall size of the Magic Trackpad 2 is a little larger than the original. You can see the “On-Off” switch and the “Lightning” charging port in the photo.
One of the most important improvements between the Magic Trackpad 2 and the original is that the Magic Trackpad 2 is rechargeable! It is a total drag to always be putting batteries in the original trackpad. The charge on the Magic Trackpad 2 lasts quite a long time, it is so convenient.
The Magic Trackpad 2 has a few added capabilities. One of those is “Force Click” and “Haptic Feedback”.
There are additional features in the “More Gestures” area as well.
I am really enjoying the Magic Trackpad 2. It is much nicer to use than the original trackpad and does more things.
I use a trackpad about ¾ of the time in my daily workflow. I still find a mouse is better for moving and dragging stuff around, though. If you are a trackpad user, you cannot go wrong with the Magic Trackpad 2.
