If you have a HomePod, you may not think about this, but it actually has an operating system. The HomePod has its OS, which actually does updates occasionally. Apple released an update for the HomePod OS the other day. If you have a HomePod, you should check to confirm this update has installed or install it if it has not. Here is how you do that.
Tap on the home symbol on the Home Screen of the My Home app.
Tap on “Home Settings” in the dropdown menu.
In the next screen, tap on “Software Update”.
The My Home App checks for updates. If it shows an update available, just tap on it and install the update. Mine is set to “Automatic”.
Even though we don’t think about it much, it is a good idea to keep the HomePod updated for security reasons and better functionality.
If you own any version of the HomePod, then take care to keep it up to date along with your other Apple devices.
