I was poking around in the excellent CleanMyMac App from MacPaw the other day and discovered some additional ways to streamline your Mac. I discovered a different area of the App that allows you to discover and remove more junk.
CleamMyMac 3 Additional
After completing a routine cleaning of my machine I got curious about a symbol with three dots located in the upper right corner of the App window:
When you click on this image it presents you with a list of additional things to consider which may help remove junk from your Mac:
If you click on Review Old Stuff you are presented with a list of large, old files:
You may not wish to remove any of these files, but I bet you can find a few things to get rid of like I did.
Now, if you look back at the original list of additional things to clean in CleanMyMac 3 you will see Review Unused Applications. When you select that you are taken to this window:
This is huge folks! If you are anything like me you download and install Apps from time to time in trail mode. Or you use an App for a while, but you stop using it because you find something better. The text in the top portion of this window explains this is a list of Apps not used for 6 months. If you have not used an App for over 6 months you may not really need it. Yes, it may be an application that is designed for occasional use. But, I’ll bet you can find a few Apps that you just don’t need any longer.
When you find an App that you wish to uninstall just click and select it:
Then click on Uninstall and the App will be removed. This procedure may not save you tons of space on your machine, but you might be surprised at how this saved space can add up after removing a few orphaned Apps.
CleanMyMac 3 is all about streamlining your Mac, making it work better. It has several features for getting rid of junk. It behooves all of us to take advantage of all CleanMyMac 3 can do to keep our Macs running lean and mean.
