Hide Mac Messages Conversations

If you are like me, you do a moderate amount of texting with the Messages App on your Mac. It does work great and is just plain handy. Occasionally, you may be involved in a conversation that never seems to end. If you do not wish to remove all messages notifications, but only wish to “Hide” one conversation, then here is how to do that.

Hide Conversations

When you are in the Messages App, just click on the small “I” symbol in the upper-right corner of the window.

You will see a pop-up like this one.

Scroll down in this little window to see the “Hide” checkbox.

Just check the box “Hide Alerts” and you will no longer be notified about new entries in this conversation.

That is all there is to it. Don’t forget to “UnHide” alerts if you need to continue to monitor the conversation.

Hiding alerts for conversations in the Mac Messages App is easy. You may not need to use this feature often, but when you need to it will be there.
