I finally received my iLife ’09 yesterday. Today, I installed it on my iMac. However, prior to installing the software I made a few preparations first. Here is what I did.
I opened iPhoto ’08 and rebuilt the iPhoto library. Just boot up iPhoto ’08 while holding down the Command and Option keys. You will be presented with this window:
You can check any of these choices, these are the ones I checked. It took a few minutes to rebuild our 7,000 images.
Before proceeding further I made sure I had a Time Machine backup and that I cloned my hard drive to my external, bootable firewire drive. Apparently, people have had some problems installing iLife ’09 so I just wanted to be safe.
When I had completed these tasks I installed iLife ’09 on the iMac. The install went very well. It took about 10 minutes to install and then a restart is required. The machine restarted fine. I booted each application which seemed to work fine. However, I haven’t had much time to really use the applications yet, but you will be the first to know my observations. Until then. . . .
