I have several Email accounts for different purposes. For a while I had most of those accounts on on my iPhone, thinking that I needed to monitor them at all times. However, the bottomline is, about 95% of my Email comes into my iCloud account anyway. So, I decided to remove the other accounts from my iPhone and just monitor them on my Mac. Here is how you do that.
Remove Email Accounts
If you wish to remove an Email account from your iOS device, you need to go into the Settings area, naturally. Here is the account in the iOS Mail App that I wish to Delete:
Once in the Settings area scroll down and tap on Passwords & Accounts:
You will see a list of the Accounts on your iOS Device on the next screen:
Tap on the account you wish to Delete. Then, at the next screen tap on Delete Account:
And you will be taken to a confirmation page:
Be sure and read the Fine Print here. If you Delete an Email account, all the Data in that account will be removed from your iPhone. If you are sure of this action, just tap on Delete Account and the account is removed”
That is all there is to it to remove an Email account from the Mail App in iOS.
Deleting an Email account in iOS is much easier than creating the account initially. Just be sure you want to remove that specific account. It really is a pain to have to add it back at a later time.
